An item is anything that does not qualify as a weapon, shield, or piece of armor. This can be anything from a book to a magical staff. There are 3 ways to acquire items (as well as weapons, shields, and armor); buying it, finding it, or making it. Because of this, every item will have a cost, certain attribute requirements to use, and a precision and memory requirement if you choose to craft it.

Unlike runes, you cannot copy when crafting, and instead must understand what you are doing. This means that before you can craft an item, you have to learn how to craft it. Crafting can include everything from “crafting” a wolf pelt from a carcass, to forging a sword for a king, or even infusing a magical creation.
Every item will also have a list of items, or components, that are required to make them. Some of these individual items must also be crafted, while others can be bought, or found/harvested, and locations that it can be bought or harvested.

If you so choose, you may also sell items, though be aware that sometimes your merchandise will not be bought if you are not a merchant or blacksmith (some may think you can’t be trusted with selling).
