Onwards!

Midgern was much nicer than the north: less snow, less grumpy bartenders, and a whole lot more sun. The Jungles were Edgardo's favorite part. He had only gone through a small part of the edge of one of the jungles, but the experience was incredible. It had been years since he had been near them, and a return trip was more than welcome. His last experience with the jungles was... profitable, to say the least. He had served as a guide for a small caravan, not unlike the one he had passed as he exited the north. To tell the truth, he had no idea where he was going, but his employer didn't need to know that. They had reached their destination ahead of schedule, and the merchant he was escorting paid more than Edgardo needed to survive off of for a year or more. Edgardo then decided to settle down in a small village close to the jungle for a while. He took daily jaunts through the towering trees, honing his body, his mind, and trying to keep his hair in shape despite the humidity.

Nevertheless, the money ran out, and Edgardo had to leave, not just for wont of money, but also because he had again neglected to pay for his wine. That was really becoming a bad habit of his. Exiting the jungle, he could see the plains of the south-east stretching on into the horizon. Pausing to rest, and chewing on some travel bread, he contemplated on his actions. Is what he was doing really the right thing to do? Would he be able to pull it off? Was it even a good idea?

Well, there was only one way to find out. Finishing his bread, he swung his pack back over his shoulder. Reaching up to make sure his hair was in order, he set off into the south-east.
